I am a voracious reader, a former attorney, a Covid homeschooler, and an educational resource creator. But most important of all, I’m a mom to three wonderful children.

I fell in love with middle grade literature when I was in middle grade myself. The Giver by Lois Lowry holds a very special place in my heart and, to me, is the north star of children’s literature. I continue to read middle grade books for my own personal enjoyment, for family read aloud time, and to help others find wonderful books for their children.

I think reading middle grade literature can be exponentially enhanced when children talk about, think about, and deeply understand the book. For that reason, I’ve also created educational resources for some of my favorite books. You can find them on my Teachers Pay Teachers store, Miss Birdie B.
